“Folding” against COVID

Sparked by an inquiry by an Oxford patron, The Lane Libraries has been using idle compute cycles on our servers to help with the Rosetta@home distributed computing project. Rosetta@home helps to determine the 3-dimensional shapes of proteins in research that may ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases, including COVID-19. Running the Rosetta program on idle computers helps speed up and extend research.

OPLIN has purchased LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) for Ohio public libraries. These are high-quality video courses with a focus on business and technology.

A Visit from Anna

Thank you so much to Valerie/Anna for attending Thursday’s Disney themed toddler time. She sang and danced with all the children and then posed for a lot of pictures. She even took the time to visit the little ones in the children’s area. Check her out reading to her adoring fans. I think she is now a Frozen expert. The kids asked thoughtful questions and appreciated the one-on-one interaction. Great day!
