Congratulations to the following nominees:

Hamilton:

Amanda Lehmann

Amanda has done a lot of work in the last few months trying to catch up on Cummins Room requests. Her work is greatly appreciated.

Sara Stapf – unable to win, won September 2019

Sara is always willing to help you with a task you don’t understand or don’t have time to complete on your own. She is knowledgeable and can always be found doing something integral to the operation of the branch. Sara doesn’t hesitate to approach patrons and offer her assistance or a simple friendly greeting. She puts 100% into everything she does and everyone notices!

Oxford/Smith:

Akiko Urayama, OXB

Akiko took on the chaotic zone of the children’s workroom and cleaned and organized it painstakingly. This kind of unprompted support is typical of Akiko and not taken for granted by us–thank you!

Chad Wonsik, OXB

Chad is always helpful, and he has been extra invaluable as he helps our branch transition into the new online schedule system (a big thanks to everyone involved!). He has troubleshooted, explained, and puzzled out the various conundrums we’ve faced and done everything he can to help us adapt to the new system and make it a good fit for our location. Thank you for your patience and hard work, Chad!

Rebecca Evans, OXB

Rebecca brings deep enthusiasm and experience to her work in Reference. She uses her extensive local knowledge to involve our community in our library’s programming and really make our public’s knowledge a showcase of our library. She is also always willing to lend a hand no matter the task. We are lucky to have her!

Sarah Gifford, OXB – unable to win, won December 2019

Sarah is always learning about library services and trying to bring new ideas to our system. She goes above and beyond to assist both patrons and her coworkers.

Debbie Dallman, OXB – 2 nominations

Debbie consistently goes above and beyond for both patrons and the community as a whole. It is not unusual for Debbie to bring books from home for patrons to read. She has searched for stolen bikes on her break and collected clothes for house fire victims. Debbie has a huge heart and truly cares about people. She is a joy to work with and be around.

Debbie can seamlessly go from one department to the next without skipping a beat. She is very knowledgeable in all areas of the library. She’s also great at suggesting books for patrons of all age levels.

David Halliwell, OXB – 2 nominations

I will let one of our patrons speak for me:
…came into the library for mystery books to check out for very sick mother and DAVID (yes it was all in caps) assisted me locating these books immediately 🙂 This young gentleman was of the utmost courteous and kind. He deserves a raise for his professional service. THANK YOU!
David is always thoughtful and kind in his interactions with both patrons and staff. Thank you!

David always goes above and beyond to get patron what they need, whether it is a book or technology related question. Patrons love his calm and positive attitude. Being a Grade 3 Floater, he works in every department, helps with whatever needs to be done.

Fairfield

Danielle White – unable to win, won March 2019

Danielle is a fantastic wellness champion, consistently finding ways to keep us informed, educated, and engaged and I appreciate all her efforts!

 Missy Thompson

Missy is a great employee who is always willing to help the patrons as well as the staff. She has offered her assistance on numerous occasions to the Children’s staff whenever there is downtime at the front desk. Her kindness also comes with honesty, and she is a great person to go to if you need advice.

Tabitha Peal

She’s a great employee and wonderful friend!

Jennifer Bonnlander

Jen B. is one of the most meticulous Shelvers I’ve ever worked with. Her dedication to accuracy and making our shelves look incredibly neat and tidy are inspiring. Her hard work is what patrons see when they come in the building and it makes for a really good first impression. She proactively works at keeping the shelf spacing even and has been known to shift an entire collection just to make the shelving work. She truly deserves this nomination for the employee of the quarter!

LAC/BKM/Tech Center

Mandy Thoman, LAC

Mandy is always facing deadlines with her job and she continually meets those deadlines. She also manages to fit in extra work she is asked to do, sometimes at a moment’s notice!

Margaret Winstead, LAC

During a brief slow time in December and early January, Margaret pitched in and worked on all sorts of un-fun projects. I’m all too familiar with one we call the 0-viable list and how much of a grind it is to work on. Margaret did an amazing job on that list and deserves all kinds of praise for how much she tackled. It was great service to me, but an even greater service to the patrons affected. Thanks Margaret!

Debbie Bond, LAC – unable to win, won June 2019

Debbie has been doing an amazing job preparing the children’s books for summer reading!

Matt Leffler, LAC – unable to win, won September 2019

Matt always goes above and beyond and is always happy to do so. He is very quick to react to any issue, has great solutions, and implements them quickly. As an example, my computer died this week and he was on the scene diagnosing the problem within minutes. Even though the problem was with the motherboard, he had it fixed within the day and made sure I had a working substitute for the few hours mine was down. He’s excellent at his job, knowledgeable, and super friendly.

Tracy Reed, LAC

Tracy is awesome at getting us office supplies when we need replacement supplies!
