  1. Oh gosh, these are so fun! I spotted a few familiar faces, and have been explaining how the Main building used to be laid out, compared to today.

  2. Wow! What a trip down Memory Lane! I recognize some of the employees in the photos and the locations but not all. The shot of the fireplace area in the (current) South Reading Room) was before I joined the staff @ LPL. At the time of that photo, that area was the Children’s Dept. I didn’t realize there were curtains in that room too and from even earlier pics around here somewhere, there used to be a stuffed moose head above the fireplace where you see the portrait of Robert McCloskey. By the time I arrived that area had become Tech Services and above the fireplace was a framed painting or print of sheep or cows in a field.
