Pharos update (resolving login reboots)

Thank you all for logging the Pharos SignUp reboot issues. I am pleased to report that a new Sign Up service pack has been released that addresses this issue. The vendor claims to have had similar reports from other libraries using Windows 10 with our Pharos configuration.

The fix will still result in occasional confusion but it should be less disruptive. It may still happen that a patron has to re-login immediately, but the PC won’t reboot and the login won’t count against their Pharos daily quota.

I will apply the new service pack after closing on Sunday, August 13, but we have to reinstall a new Pharos client on each public PC to finish the fix. We will be working on this all next week.
