Tammy Brooks (Fairfield) – December 2017 Employee of the Month

Tammy Brooks (Fairfield) is the December 2017 Employee of the Month. Valerie Simmons nominated Tammy and wrote:

Tammy worked hard to provide an outstanding collection of programs during Light Up Fairfield. When we reached the registration limit very early on one program,  she modified and expanded her plans to offer as many kids as possible a chance to participate. The events were well received and another example of the community-centered programming that Tammy arranges for our patrons!

Congratulations Tammy, who also won in July 2014. She receives her choice of 4 extra hours of vacation or a $50 gift card.

Also nominated:

Annette Clayton
I am nominating Annette this month because she was willing to take over as the Wellness Champion for LAC and BKM. I know she will do a great job, and wish her luck in the future.

Sarah Gifford
Sarah is a staff member who always goes beyond the call of duty to serve patrons and her co-workers. She works hard to put on high quality story times and programs for our programs. Patrons have provided very positive feedback about her programs and efforts to engage with children. Also recently, she was instrumental in “catching” a patron who was destroying library books. It was through her observations that we were finally able to put an end to pages being torn out of numerous books. Thank you Sarah for all you do at OXB!

Reason for nomination? Everything! Great with patrons, fun to work with, and so enthusiastic about everything she does. She is also so invested in the Oxford Community and you can tell she has a genuine passion for helping people. One of our long-time patrons recently passed away and Sarah has been helping the family through it and organized a way for Lane to share our condolences. Not to mention, her programs have been fun, fresh, and have had great turnouts! Great person and great employee.

Molly Ehrnschwender
Molly has been instrumental in helping with children’s programming and helping to organize and clean our storage area so we can find the things we need. She is great with patrons and always has a sunny disposition. Molly is a coworker that turns a grey day into a shining light.

Jen Tanaka
Jen Tanaka is a bright star at FFB. She is also a very positive influence. Her smile is contagious. Jen is a great team player too. The other day, I was by myself at the Circulation desk and all of the sudden I had quite the line. Jen was in the Children’s area at the time. She saw the line and swooped in and helped get the patron’s taken care of. She’s awesome!

Lucy Hayes
A patron recently left this feedback about the service Lucy provided her: “Just wanted to say Lucy was very nice and helped me with getting my Gmail account reset. She stayed with me step by step until I was finished. She was great. Good customer service.”

Mary Geers
I recently received this feedback about Mary’s storytime efforts: “During summer, we attend story time at Fairfield. This past summer, Mary, was the librarian that lead the one we would attend. We so enjoyed her story times! Her passion for early literacy skills shined through and I so appreciated and learned from her as a parent! We incorporate songs, verses, and movement into our homeschool and Mary has such great opportunities during story time for movement.”

Sarah Hedrick
Earlier this month, I received this praise for Sarah’s valuable assistance in the Books By The Banks event: “We truly appreciate you allowing Sarah to take part in the Planning Team as it can undoubtedly be a hardship on the branch. It was extremely beneficial to have the fresh perspective that she offered. More importantly, she proved to be an invaluable asset to our team as a whole. She was always willing to help others on the team and also coordinated some of the events offered in the room.”

Trent Hart
Trent has been extremely helpful overall but when we had our first snowfall on a Saturday, Trent came in to make sure that we had salted sidewalks! He was extremely sweet about having to come in and we really appreciate him!

Christman Hersha
Christman has been so helpful getting all our computers straightened out. His constant good attitude is infectious! It is a pleasure to work with him!

Alex Scales
Alex is constantly working hard cleaning the service areas and helping Brad in the Cummins Room. He is also more than willing to help any of us if we need assistance, no matter how great the task may be.

Lindsey Ross-Roberts
I nominate Lindsey Ross-Roberts for employee of the month, because of her quiet, steady, hard-working manner and willingness to help her co-workers any time they need it. She is very dependable and knows the library procedures inside and out, and is very good at training new employees. She is pleasant and kind with patrons both on the phone and in person – even the most difficult ones. What I love about Lindsey is that she is quick to offer a kind word to her fellow employees when they are having a bad day. She personifies all the best qualities you expect from a Lane Library employee. Well done, Lindsey!

Amanda Lehmann
Amanda is always kind to patrons and library staff. She has an eye for things that need to be done and is always on task. Not only is Amanda a team player, but she also treats everyone with compassion. It is easy to see how much she cares about the library as well as the people who step through our doors.

Danielle White
Danielle is the best wellness champion ever! She puts a lot of effort into pumping us up for all the challenges, and making each month’s poster board an interesting, entertaining, and informative read. This month she really took everything to the next level by setting up a truly awesome stress-free room with coloring, snacks, puzzles, and more. And she was doing all this while helping plan our staff holiday festivities. Thanks for all you do, Dani!
