December Employee of the Quarter 2024

Congratulations to the following December 2024 Employee of the Quarter winners:

HAMILTON:

Shyann Thomas

In addition to all she does, she has taken on a new responsibility of being quality control for the Property Searches. 

FAIRFIELD:

Danielle White – 3 nominatons

Dani does so much work for FFB wellness team and for our circ team for such a long time now. She is kind, caring, and creative in her efforts and always gives us a good laugh.

One of the reasons Danielle should be nominated is because of how dependable she is. If ‘I’m unsure of something in circ, she’ll be quick to lend a hand or just teach me something new. She can break things down in a really easy to understand way, and is a great source of advice. No matter what you might need, you can always go to her.

Danielle is always going the extra mile. She (and her Cricket) are major players in the Fresh Committee’s morale boosting efforts. She spends so much time making her awesome tags and bulletin boards. Beyond that she is always ready to help her coworkers and always has a smile on her face! She is an inspiration to us all and well deserves this honor.

OXFORD/SMITH:

Jackie Berberich – 3 nominations

Jackie is creative and hosts the very best art programs. She also uses her talents to design attractive bulletin boards in all departments at OXB. She is a wizard on the Cricut! Jackie also always goes above and beyond to provide patrons with excellent Reference service. Thank you for all that you do at OXB.

She genuinely wants to help anyone who needs her and displays kindness with her directness. She’s great at collaboratively and creatively solving problems, always making the best out of complicated situations. She beautifies the library with her art and enriches the community with her programs. We are very lucky to have her!

Jackie does an amazing job with all things art and more. She is a valuable member of our staff.

LAC/BKM/TECH CENTER:

Mike Busam – BKM

Mike has an outstanding rapport with our patrons and is asked after frequently. He is an excellent troubleshooter, aiding with not just patron needs but also around the office with things like mechanical issues, odd delivery tasks, and bus care and upkeep. Mike puts a lot of care into BKM and we’re very happy to have him.

HAMILTON:

Morgan Abrams – 3 nominations

Morgan has gone above and beyond of Lane’s Ren Fest program, not only crafting a beautiful scene in every room, but by hand painting beautiful dragons or tiaras on so many smiling people’s faces!

Morgan is always so helpful and kind. She is willing to jump in and help whenever necessary. Morgan also makes LPL look beautiful: she loves decorating and making sure displays look nice and full of books and that shelves are straightened up. When I see that I’m on desk with her, I know it’ll be a pleasant experience. 

She works very hard making sure the displays and décor for our branch are perfect. the things she did for the Renaissance Faire were wonderful and part of what made it so successful. 

Alex Scales

Alex is always super helpful. He will notice when another area needs assistance and will jump up to help without being asked. Patrons ask for him by name because he is always so helpful. Even if he doesn’t know how to solve a tech issue for a patron, he’ll give it a try. He greets regular patrons by name and asks them specifics about their lives, making them feel welcomed. 

Robyn Pittenger

While being sure all of her tasks are done, she goes beyond her work such as cleaning, checking in crates, handling phone calls, and helping with holds.

She, Morgan, Shyann and Cathy worked extremely hard to bring the very successful Renaissance festival together 

FAIRFIELD:

Jen Bonnlander

Jen is an amazing shelver who goes above and beyond everyday. If she’s done with shelving than she’s always offering help to anyone who needs it. FFB is lucky to have her.

Michelle Marcus

Michelle is a very dedicated and reliable part of FFB’s circulation department. She’s hardworking, kind and supportive. She’s also a great artist and is always lending her talents to helping with decorating the sandwich board for programs.

Emma Estridge

Emma is someone I can always bounce ideas off of and will help out on any program. She’s assisted me on my movie program, did book club with me and so on. She is quick to get things done and is someone I can comfortably go to if I ever need a hand. Just a few reasons why Emma deserves this nomination.

Josh Cardona – 2 nominations

Josh is always willing to help anyone with any task, including helping with programming, carrying heavy things, and helping translate for ESL patrons, and he does it all cheerfully.

I can count on Josh to help out – no matter the problem(s) that may arise! He is kind, patient, and understanding with our patrons, and he goes above and beyond to make sure his co-workers don’t feel overwhelmed with projects. He’s an asset to FFB!

Abriljoanna Huerta

Abril exhibited kindness and patience with an older patron recently, spending over 2 hours assisting her with formatting a project and submitting it to be printed into a booklet. She helped the woman configure the files on our computers and her own laptop, and made sure she understood the process as they went along. Great customer service!

OXFORD/SMITH:

Haleigh Miller- 2 nominations Won March 2024

Haleigh’s positive attitude and friendly demeanor always make it a pleasure to work with her. She is proactive and steps right up to assist anyone on a project or task. Haleigh is reliable and can be counted on.

Haleigh jumps right in on any and every project that comes up. She is very knowledgeable about all our software programs. Also, she is very pleasant with the patrons.

Caitlin Campbell – 2 nominations

This fall Caitlin provided a much needed boost to the Art Explorer’s program between OXB and MU’s art museum. Instead of letting this long standing partnership fizzle into nothing Caitlin revived it with new energy. The museum staff and the community have responded very well and it is a thriving program. Well done Caitlin.

She seems to be very passionate and caring about her work. Saw a local school post and express how much they appreciate her story time visits. Very heart warming.

Emily Hicks – Smith

Emily has been doing a great job researching an extensive project on Peck’s Addition.

Isobella Dale – Smith

Bella has put in a lot of time and effort in scanning the Nuxhall Family scrapbooks, an important project to accession a new digital collection into our archives.

Sarah Gifford

Sarah always brings helpful ideas to the table when it comes to programming and troubleshooting. Also, this quarter she initiated a “Next Chapter Book Club” for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, filling a need she observed in our community. We are lucky to have her service.

LAC/BKM/TECH CENTER:

Sam Bloom – LAC

Sam has been an outstanding addition to the team at Lane. His extensive knowledge of Children’s Literature has been a tremendous resource. In addition to his expertise, Sam has gone above and beyond to support all branches with weeding projects. We are very lucky to have him at Lane. 

Wren Burks – Tech Center

They are always very patient with patrons and happy to help them with anything, no matter how small.

Emmett Tallarigo – BKM

Emmett works hard to manage the materials we stock the Bookmobile with. He changes out titles that aren’t circulating, manages the teen section, and is good at making recommendations for children and teen patrons. 

Rylee Del Rio – Tech Center – won Dec 2023

Rylee is always wonderful to work with, she’s a darling individual, a charming conversationalist, and a dedicated coworker who does fun and engaging programming that is fascinating to watch develop. She always offers a helping hand if needed and brightens each day.

Sue Brooks

Sue is so much fun to work with! She’s always sweet, has a story to share, and has great restaurant recommendations! We love Sue! 🙂 

Alice Aherns Radlinski

Alice is always helpful and willing to answer any question for anybody. Her presence just makes the day go smoother.
